Toward Interfaith Hospitality

In a two-part workshop, Dr. Reinhard Krauss, Executive Director of the Academy, will introduce helpful and constructive approaches to inter-religious dialogue and collaboration. The event is part of the ‘Faith Conversations’ series at Westwood Presbyterian Church and is open to the public.

In the United States, public conversation about religion is currently highly divisive. Some categorically reject, and even want to suppress, religious beliefs and practices which differ from their own. Others, at the same time, hold and promote the view that all religious doctrines, rituals, and observances are equally true and of completely equal value. The two camps rarely speak to each other, let alone understand one another. Is it possible to move beyond the unsatisfactory alternatives of rigid fundamentalism and fuzzy universalism?
